But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8

For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Matthew 25:14-15 (NKJV)

Why we give our talents:

  • It Glorifies God

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms… so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 4:10-11

  • It builds others up

Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” Romans 15:2 (MSG)

  • It fulfills our purpose in life

And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35

How we give our talents…

  • Make yourself available to serve
  • Pay attention to needs around you

Every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith. Galatians 6:10 (MSG)

  • Don’t make excuses

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Ecclesiastes 4:11 (TLB)

  • Look for others to serve with

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
