All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.  He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT)

If we want to care more we have to remember:

 

  1. Compassion requires proximity

 

The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. John 1:14 (The Message)

 

  1. Compassion requires passion

 

Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9: 23 (NLT)
